About Me
Hi, I’m Paulette and I’m happy you’re here. For me life is all about creating, crafting, and expressing my soul through my art – creativity is my mindfulness practice.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been obsessed with creating art. For me, it’s a form of escapism. I find when I focus on my art my mind seems to clear of any niggling doubts, ‘to-do’ lists and annoying thoughts that can take over, and fill my head.
I have always been a methodical person, and about 5 years ago I discovered sacred geometry. I was inspired by Zac Korvin whose work I saw on Instagram. It instantly made sense to me, I found creating repetitive, colourful patterns that interlinked in a methodical way so satisfying. I also discovered the results were always good as you can’t go ‘wrong’ working in this way. I also love the work of Samira Mian.
My background is in hairdressing (my mum and dad were hairdressers, so it’s in my blood) and I’m a qualified master colourist. My experience with colour is an important part of my art, whether it’s subtle or bold – it’s woven throughout everything I create.
After many years working in some wonderful salons I decided to go out on my own and set up PH Hair in Christchurch Road. It was a wonderful time in my career and I enjoyed being my own boss. Although I worked as a hairdresser I never stopped painting and drawing in my spare time. I can’t imagine a world where I never paint or craft to be honest! It’s my precious ‘me time’ and my way of relaxing.
